Day 2 - 2015

This is an accomplishment!  I'm blogging two days in a row!  Its the little things...  Anyhow, today was back to work at my boutique which I will post about more in a future post.  Guess I better start that future post list now while I'm thinking about it!  So needless to say today was pretty busy, starting to get caught up again after the holidays.

FlyLady Task Baby Steps #2

This was a super quick and easy task today.  Mostly because I have to finish it tomorrow when I have more time.  The main part of today's task which I did finish was to get familiar with the FlyLady website.  I have to admit, at first her website is a bit overwhelming as there are links everywhere and several of them seem to lead to the same place.  But thankfully the email outlined the 3 main areas:

  1. The Main Website - http://flylady.net/
  2. The Launch Pad - http://flylady.net/c/lp.php
  3. The Flight Plan - http://flylady.net/c/fp.php?tzm=420
By sticking to those three it helps narrow things down a lot and avoid too much confusion.  Check them out!

Start Ultimate Blog Challenge

I use weebly for my business website and blog!

Last night as I was surfing the web for blog challenges, I came across something called the Ultimate Blog Challenge.  It sounded intriguing and upon further inspection I learned that its a quarterly challenge designed to help businesses (or personal blogs) expand their reach and build their blog.  I figured well it certainly wouldn't hurt and decided to sign up for my business blog for Buckles 'n Lace.  As this was late last night I didn't officially start the challenge until today.  But I did successfully get my first two challenge posts up today!

Home School Schedule

I got these awesome printables from The Handmade Home!

Last fall we began home schooling our son.  He was diagnosed Autism 3 years ago, but is thankfully very vocal and able to communicate quite well.  However, we've had to pull him from a public school for various reasons that I will get into more details on...you guessed it...a future post.  It has been a struggle to get into a routine with home schooling.  So one part of my 2015 planner is dedicated to scheduling his lessons.  I plan to start writing things in after I've posted this!  So I'll have to update you on that progress later.

Tastefully Simple Parties

Tastefully Simple is a direct sales business that I've been with for over a year and a half now as a consultant.  Before that I was a customer for years.  Through them I sell the most delicious and incredibly easy to make food mixes.  There are so many products from desserts to dips to spices to sauces to drinks to breads.  I do parties here locally where everyone gets to sample 12 to 15 different products.  They are SO much fun!  Here is a link to my website:  http://www.tastefullysimple.com/web/moviatt.  So today I am trying to find a great printable planner for my TS business as well.  And in the mean time am contacting 4+ people who I'll be running parties for this month to get those finalized!

TERRAfit Post #1

Finally on my list today was to start posting details for my team I'm participating on in the TERRAfit Challenge.  For years now I've wanted to do get healthier and be more focused on my general well being, but as we all can attest to...its easy to want to do it, but doing it is a whole other matter.  There have been so many fitness programs come and go and none of them worked right for me because they either required you to spend tons of money on products I didn't want to use or were so complicated I could never stick to them.

Well, earlier this week I received an email from DoTERRA about this program and when I read about it, I was instantly hooked!  The ONLY required one time cost to register is $25.  There aren't any crazy weird recipes I have to spend hours in the kitchen cooking.  There is a very simple, but clearly detailed list of what I should eat, what types of exercises I should do and so much more.

But I digress...my point for this post was that I needed to get my first bit of details out to my team (I am registered as a coach)...so we can start planning for when we start on the 12th.  I got that accomplished!

So overall today was a success and I'm not done yet!  How is your To Do list going so far this year?

Day 1 - 2015

What is it about the New Year celebration that gets us so excited and motivated to change our ways and incorporate new habits or destroy old ones?  Every year...it never fails...I, personally, am all ready to conquer the world the moment 12:01am hits on January 1st.  Slowly but surely...or let's be honest...way too quickly, that motivation wears off and I've barely begun to accomplish my goals, if I've even started.  So, this year, in the spirit of non-resolutions...my resolution is to not create one and just see what happens.

Today I was inspired to start a new blog (the old one HERE hasn't been updated in way too long)...and to start off my year by focusing on DAILY goals.  This way I don't get too overwhelmed up front and lose interest before I've even begun.

So today I began with a mental version of this list below:

As you can see I've accomplished the Create New Blog!  Yay for progress!  I've also created my 2015 planner and started my flylady tasks.  I have technically begun my master to do list in my head, but I need to get that down on paper.  So...here's where I'm at:

Create 2015 Planner

Someone on Facebook shared a link HERE a few days ago to a free printable planner!  I have been wanting to order an Erin Condren planner for a while now after following Belinda Selene and seeing her awesome planner projects.  However, they're a bit pricey and out of my range for the time being, so I settled for this adorable printable version and a three ring binder I had hanging around the house.  I still plan to dress it up like Belinda does hers.  Definitely check out the three links in this paragraph.

In the process of putting together my 2015 planner.

Start FlyLady Tasks

If you have not heard of FlyLady you should look her up!  The link for her website is HERE.  It is one of my all-time favorite organization & cleaning sites.  I signed up for her emails a while back and she begins by emailing you Baby Steps to complete each day to get into the habit of cleaning and on your way to a less chaotic life!  Today I began the first task:  Shine Your Sink!

As she explains in the email, it may seem silly to take time to do this when there are mountains of seemingly more important things to do, but for some odd reason...as she predicted..it helped me feel a lot better!  The process seemed a bit daunting at first but turned out to be quite easy.  She recommends house hold chemical cleaners, but for organic and all natural freaks like myself...you can improvise.  Here's the process:

Step 1:  Fill one side with hot water and add cleaners.  She recommends bleach but I used my own concoction of 1/2 cup hydrogen peroxide and 5 to 10 drops each of Lemon and Wild Orange essential oils.  Above you see the left side soaking and ready to go and the filthy right side waiting for its turn.

I will talk about my essential oils from doTERRA in future posts, but suffice it to say...when it comes to everything...they are THE all-natural, pure way to go!

Step 2:  After letting each side soak for an hour, you then rinse it really well and scrub it out with...my choice:  Baking Soda.  I think I used a little too much baking soda for this, but it worked like a charm!

Now...there are more steps but you'll have to go check out the FlyLady for yourself!  I'll post a photo in another blog post of my finished sink as well.  I got interrupted with dinner before I could finish photos.

Amongst other things I managed to get done today, I'm feeling quite good about about the start to my New Year!  Here's to a 2015 full of Creating, Motivating and Invigorating!!

Thanks for reading!
